Nella vita di ogni giorno, tutti abbiamo un impatto sul nostro pianeta anche la nostra Cascina. Quello che cerchiamo di fare è cercare di limitare il più possibile il nostro impatto, in che modo? Il modo più semplice è piantare alberi sui nostri terreni. In questo strano inverno 2020 abbiamo cosparso tantissime ghiande di Lecci e Querce (alberi autoctoni della nostra zona) lungo varie centinaia di metri dei nostri confini.
La nostra azienda agricola ha un estensione di 30 ettari, li possediamo da 50 anni e con l'arrivo di nonno Franco e di papà Fabio sono cambiate tante cose. Con loro sono stati piantati molti alberi, inizialmente intorno alla casa, con il passare degli anni sempre di più soprattutto sui confini, sui canali, intorno a un laghetto naturale. Questi alberi non sono solo alberi da frutto ma di tutti i tipi soprattutto querce, lecci, allori, noci, eucalipti, gelsi, ulivi, meli, mandorli, peri, nespoli, corbezzolo, carrubi, agrumi, melograni... Alcuni sono nati spontaneamente, alcuni sono stati piantati, mentre soprattutto per le querce e i lecci sono state sparse sui nostri terreni centinaia di ghiande che hanno un' incredibile capacità di germogliare anche se vengono solo lanciate su un terreno. In ogni scelta che viene fatta nella nostra azienda viene data sempre priorità agli alberi cercando di non danneggiarli preservarli e aumentarne il numero per offrire un riparo agli animali e insetti che vivono in campagna e per favorire la naturale funzione di produttori di ossigeno e ombra.
In everyday life, we all have an impact on our planet including our Cascina. What we try to do every day is to try to limit our impact as much as possible, in what way? The easiest way we can do well is to plant trees on our land. In this strange winter 2020 we have scattered many acorns of oaks and oaks (native trees in our area) along several hundred meters of our borders. Our farm has an extension of 30 hectares, we have owned them for 50 years and with the arrival of grandfather Franco and father Fabio many things have changed. With them many trees were planted, initially around the house, with the passing of the years more and more especially on the borders, on the canals, around a natural pond ... These trees are not only fruit trees but of all types especially oaks, holm oaks, laurels, walnuts, eucalyptus, mulberry, olive, apple, almond, pear, loquat, strawberry tree, carob, citrus, pomegranate ... Some were born spontaneously, some were planted, while especially for oaks and holm oaks they are hundreds of acorns have been scattered on our soils which have an incredible ability to germinate even if they are only thrown on a ground. In every choice that is made in our company, priority is always given to the trees trying not to damage them, preserve them and increase their number to offer shelter to the animals and insects that live in the countryside and to promote the natural function of oxygen and shadow producers.

Ecco il nostro Damiano alle prese con la raccolta delle ghiande. Un gesto lento, sapiente che può sembrare un gioco ma che è davvero importante. In questo caso lo spargimento con il "piccolo cono gelato" di plastica. La via delle querce e dei lecci nella nostra Cascina è nata proprio così alla fine degli anni "90, nonno Franco ha iniziato a piantare qualche quercia, poi già nei primi anni 2000 papà Fabio ha continuato l'opera insieme ad amiche come Valeria e Camilla. Le ghiande sono state raccolte dalle più belle piante presenti sul territorio molisano che ci capitava di incontrare nelle nostre passeggiate. In questo modo è nato un piccolo viale alberato con lo sfondo del blu del mare che produce ossigeno e che offre riparo con i suoi rami ai tanti uccelli e insetti che frequentano la Cascina.

Con il passare degli anni la nostra Cascina è stata circondata dagli alberi rendendola quasi invisibile dall'esterno. Abbiamo sempre dato la priorità agli alberi in qualsiasi intervento di manutenzione e ristrutturazione che sono stati eseguiti negli anni.
Over the years our Cascina has been surrounded by trees making it almost invisible from the outside. We have always given priority to trees in any maintenance and renovation that have been carried out over the years.
L'albero principe del nostro giardino è il grande gelso. Ha ormai 50 anni suonati, ogni estate ci delizia con i suoi dolcissimi gelsi neri e grazie a un sapiente lavoro di potatura abbiamo creato un'area relax con amache e un'area gioco con uno scivolo e altalene che permettono ai bambini vivere e apprezzare in pieno l'albero.
The main tree of our garden is the large mulberry tree. It is now 50 years old, every summer it delights us with its sweet black mulberries and thanks to a skilful pruning work we have created a relaxation area with hammocks and a play area with a slide and swings that allow children to live and appreciate in full the tree.

I nostri alberi vengono rispettati da noi prima di tutto per l'aiuto che ci danno nel mitigare il clima, nel produrre ossigeno, nel produrre frutti. E' il tentativo da parte nostra di limitare l'impatto di un'agricoltura intensiva che per tanti anni ha pensato solo a prendere e a non concedere nulla alla terra.

Dall'esigenza di trovare un modo per rendere la nostra agricoltura più sostenibile abbiamo iniziato a far crescere alberi a volte spontanei, a volte piantati, oltre che lungo i nostri confini anche lungo i nostri fossati. La nostra speranza è quella di ricreare un piccolo ecosistema che aiuti gli animali, gli insetti e le piante a sopravvivere con la più ampia biodiversità possibile.
From the need to find a way to make our agriculture more sustainable we started to grow trees, sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planted, as well as along our borders, also along our ditches. Our hope is to recreate a small ecosystem that helps animals, insects and plants to survive with the widest possible biodiversity.
